Lassie, Jane Eyre, Cleopatra, Taming of the Shrew,

The ultimate Socialite...

And a wandering soul....

I believe she had converted to Judaism in prior to her marriage to Burton?

Definitely newsworthy. Somewhat of an icon of the past, and someone who kept herself relevant from the 1940's on.

Re: Elizabeth Taylor... died today.

As well known as she was, I'm not sure I saw any of her movies.

I may be "old" but the peak of her career coincided with my UPC roots...therefore.......no movies. But certainly a name that I and the rest of the world had heard.

Re: Elizabeth Taylor... died today.

Even though she had a messed up personal life, I thought she was one of the most beautiful women of all time.

Yes, I would rather be ugly and happy or beautiful and happy but not beautiful and unhappy. Of course, I guess you could be ugly and unhappy. That would be a drag!!
