California has the 2nd worst state income tax in the nation.

9.3% tax bracket starts at $48,029 for people filing as individuals. 10.3% tax starts at $1,000,000. Governor Brown has put on the ballot a prop to change the “millionaires’ tax” to 13.3%, starting at $500,000 – including capital gains. If approved, CA will be by far #1 in income tax rates. We will be 21% higher than the 2nd highest state (Hawaii), 34% higher than the 3rd highest state (Oregon), and a heck of a lot higher than all the rest – including six states with zero state income tax.

CA has the highest state sales tax rate in the nation. - 7.25% This does not include local sales taxes.




CA has the 3rd highest state unemployment rate. (July, 2012) – 10.7%.
National unemployment rate 8.3%. National unemployment rate not including CA is only 8.0%, making the CA unemployment rate 34.2% higher than the average of the other 49 states.




California’s 2012 Business Tax Climate ranks 3rd worst in the nation.

It only falls behind New Jersey and New York state.




CA public school teachers the highest paid in the nation.

CA students rank 48th in math achievement, 49th in reading.




CA has the highest gas tax (tied with NY) in the nation at 67.7 cents/gallon (June, 2012).

National average is 48.9 cents. CA also has the nation’s 5thhighest diesel tax – 71.9 cents/gallon. National average is 53.8 cents.

Wow and just think I was starting to miss California

Well really I miss my daughter and my grandgirls,they are in Cali.

Retread Jerry Brown got elected mostly because Meg Whitman ran a terrible campaign. He was a bad governor the first time and he still stinks. He cares only about pleasing public Unions.

The money paid to these unions and their pensions have already bankrupt several California cities and is threatening the State. Their solution is raise taxes including the already tops state sales tax.

That hurts EVERYONE especially the poor. Recently they decided to force sales tax on ALL internet orders, again a law that hurts poor people.

Don't be fooled. Democrats are NOT for the poor, or minorities. They merely see them as their voter base so they lie and toss out cookies to entice them. What is happening to California already happened to Detroit

We had one stupid democrat lawmaker charge the tax payers for a trip to Texas to find out why companies are leaving California and moving to Texas

First of all, everyone already knows...it's California's high taxes and unfriendly business environment. Over regulated, over taxed and other "fees"

Second, he could have called but like the worst mayor in LAs history Tony Vallar (Antonio Ramón Villaraigosa) he charged the tax payers to go on another useless junket

If you want to see the end result of a Democrat ran nation, go visit Detroit. Visit California for a few months.
