Tongues & Interpretation = UPC Confirmation
Has anyone ever heard a message in tongues given and the interpretation which confirms the "oneness" doctrine as we teach or specific standards being mentioned?
The only reason I ask is that after leaving the UPC after 27 years I don't ever recall hearing a prophecy or interpretation given that confirmed our oneness doctrine or the "holiness" standards that are held in such high regard. And it just makes me wonder that if this message that we have is so important then wouldn't the Holy Spirit have at least confirmed it at least once in my 27 years.
Does anyone around here have any documented proof or at least remember a specific tongues and interpretation given that deals with our doctrine?
If this has not happened then would the question as to why we have never heard from God in this manner be a question that we should be asking?

Yes I certainly have heard them. But, that would not give any credibility to specific doctrines. I think it may serve to discredit them in some cases.

Oh boy! This will be fun. I've heard your mom give interpretation countless times and I don't recall that ever happening. That might only happen in the meetings at general conference.

I can't recall any that were specific to "oneness".

There are more gifts of the Spirit other than tongues and interpretation... I remember an account that Bro Raul Alvear Jr gave at our church a few years back where the Lord gave him a dream about going to a far far away villiage talking to people and telling people about Jesus' name baptism, and after searching and searching for several months he finally found the villiage, and found the exact same people he had seen in his dream. This is all a little sketchy, it was a very long story with lots of detail, Sis Alvear may can fill us in on some more details. And it turned out that when Bro Alvear knocked on this lady's door (one of the ladies he had seen in the dream) immediately she exclaimed "What is the message you have for me?" (or words to that effect) because this lady had been in the AOG for many many years had received the baptism of the Holy Ghost years before and she had been praying that very morning "Lord I want to be saved, if there anything else that I need to do please show me" (again, words to that effect) and the Lord spoke to her and told her that he was going to send a messenger to tell her that very day what she must do to be saved. Bro Alvear did indeed tell her what she must do and the lady and over half of the AOG church in that villiage obeyed and were baptized in Jesus' Name and there is a Jesus' Name church there today! Praise the Lord! Sis Alvear feel free to chime with any additional details! I am not sure which category this would fall into as far as the gifts of the Spirit go, but definitly the gifts were at work!

I know. The fact that she is so ultraconservative would make me think that at least once there would have been a direct message about these specific standards. I have heard hundreds of these messages given but never one about an organization or standards or "our" interpretation of oneness.

Well the UPC is the largest "oneness" denomination and considers "holiness" standards to be a part of their doctrine. If a message was given regarding a specific standard would this not be a confirmation that the UPC is headed in the right direction.
I am really just curious as I don't visit many other churches.

In my wife's home church, they had a lady visiting from the Assembly of God. There was a message in tongues, and this AOG lady gave the interpretation -- it was about the Oneness of God and Baptism in Jesus' Name! She, of course, accepted it, and was baptized.

i have never heard tongues and interpretations about "specific standards" i have heard them about being holy and such like but nothing specific... i don't know if that would be confirmation of the upc or not though.. i really think God could care less about denominations and organizations....
