Rugs - why do we need them?
It's Friday, it's a light-hearted topic that I'm sure we all have something to say about.
With the wedding last weekend, it was an emotional time as the mother of the groom. All the various emotions experienced were:
- Excitement
- Happiness
- Reality check that my baby is grown up and starting his own family
- Loneliness, to a point, because I didn't have anyone to hold my hand
- Pride (sorry Sis. Roxie, but I was proud)
- Apprehension being the first big social event divorced
- Relief that all went well
I did the "social rug", where you are glad to see someone you haven't seen in a while. I did the "welcome to our family rug" with my DIL. I did the "thanks for everything rug" to those that helped so much.
However, I needed a rug just to fall into.
