Whether or not you listen to me is pointless. I responded to an absurd statement she made and absurdity can't be validated by hardships. We've all got shoes, you know, and if you're interested in walking a mile in mine, let me know. You might be surprised.

And a small comment, perhaps not explained or justified to your liking, does not invalidate the good works of a lifetime.

And no one EVER said it did. This goofy mountain has been formed of something that didn't even amount to a molehill. I called into question the concept of the devil being defeated by the use of a credit card. The rest of it? Well, it's just stuff you all made up.

Re: Well...guess I should go buy a stove...
Some churches have ATM's ( is that what they are called?) in the entrance...
I know people can run up big debts on credit cards...we once had a person here that about runined theirself because of credit cards...but that was not the real problem...it was much deeper...
I wish our churches had more classes on management. It is so easy to use a card however payment day rolls around... As long as we pay our bills we owe nothing...the danger is to bite off more than you can chew...

You have not because you ask not.
Maybe Sis. Alvear's boldness to ask for what she needs just gets under some of you guy's skin.

It is, in my view. Maybe if more people supported their work she would not have to constantly ask. Instead they complain and point fingers at her

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I don't mind supporting missionaries. I understand that they are immersed in the work of God. My question is when does the native work take over and become self-sufficient in supporting the work of the Lord in their area?

good point mizpeh. I don't know where the alvears focus their work, but there should be plenty of middle class brazilians that could be targeted not only for their salvation, but also to support kingdom building in brazil.
