There are men at the gym. They do not cat call because they would lose their membership, proof that they can indeed control themselves.. so why not exercise some of that control on the street where you know you are scaring some woman who is trying to exercise half to death.

I've had men come up behind me in a car and honk... to them some sign that I am sexy, to me the universal sign that someone is about to be run over... sheesh!

Amanah, I agree. I have talked to a number of women, and they say that men look at them as being sex objects. When I get close to mentioning the way that they dress provokes that in a man, they turn and bite my head off saying that a man should be able to not look.

I hate to say it, but any guy (gay or straight) is going to look at a nearly naked woman. We can not help being the visual creatures that we are.

Of course Christian women should dress modestly, but I can guarantee you that even in countries where women are covered head to toe in burka's, men still lust after the women....

Well, getting back to the money part of the thread....I think the spirit is getting tossed aside for the letter. Here is the problem with many in Christendom...somebody makes a step in the right direction (Emphasis on STEP), and what do alot of folks do...pick apart the persons percieved intent, as if any of us knows the whole story.

Sure it could be smoke and mirrors...but it could also be heartfelt, and the Lord really could be dealing with her, but no, lets toss that aside and talk about how if it was REALLY God she would dispose of all her income earned in this "sinful way", pay her Tithe, etc. What a trip! The spirit gets lost on the letter, and many of these posts are case in point.

I think we are really good at the do's and don'ts, but miss it many times on the spirit issues. It may be God is working a work in a slow step process in this person's life..we ought to at least be greatful she is laying asid some kind of weight and giving God the credit..

For a woman who is used to modeling VS, simply moving to something even a bit more covering probably feels modest. If you give a tank top to a woman from Africa or the Amazon who is used to going topless she probably now feels as covered and "modest" as a Muslim woman in a burka. Modesty is (for the most part) relative. Basically I am agreeing with your post 100%.
