I remember, back in the day, that the young ladies in our church were not able to wear maxi dresses [even though they were more modest than the knee length styles] until after the Pastor's daughter did so.

I also remember not being allowed to go to King's Island or Cedar point until the Pastor's son talked his father into it and took us all for the first time as a group.

There was absolutely no divorce allowed or preached even as far as the 'innocent party' doctrine until after the Pastor's daughter got a divorce and married the most elligible evangelist.

I think that the ministry takes too much responsibility on themselves which actually sets themselves up for a fall from the pedestal.

Just my opinion as seen through the veil of my past experience.
