I had a rough day but it ended up nice. I started out the day thinking I could wrap my work up here in my home office by about noon and take the afternoon off to enjoy my birthday with perhaps a nice long motorcycle ride.
A special high priority project I had been shepherding through to completion was the last important thing I had to wrap up. I thought I had pulled off the almost miracle it was going to take for this project when I got a telephone call that one of the parts was defective and we could not deliver it to the customer. Arghhhh!!!!! The manufacturing facility who made this closed at 1 pm today and will not reopen until Tuesday morning so I can't have that piece remade until then. I emailed the pertinent parties involved and left a voicemail then waited for the ugly emails and phone calls to roll in. Surprisingly not one single person responded so I can only assum that they all had done what I had wanted to do and had taken off early today! I am sure that Tuesday morning my telephone and emails will be hopping. I was tense all afternon and evening expecting my phone to ring. I finally started relaxing about 7 pm.
My daughter and her husband took me out to a Mexican restaurant for my birthday dinner which was nice.
My wife left me on my birthday which was not nice.
