No, I don't think it is a sin of any kind, but the history is interesting as is the origin of necessity and cultural bias.

Neither do I think that it is sinful to go clean shaven on a man.

The point is that neither is it sinful to grow a well kept beard.

It seems appropriate that men should not be allowed beards in the UPC as it is one of the very few "holiness indicators" for men...most are for women so this helps keep the scales balanced!

While some organizations take away from the Word, I wonder how much has the UPC added to the Word?

I know of an independant church that Allows the women to wear short sleeves but the Men have to Wear long sleeves at All times
simply to balance the Rules out. I think this sort of weird. I mean, how about we just take their Radios away from them so they cannot listen to sports or something ??

Thad - I was at PSR some years ago and YES - Radio and listening to the Ball Games was preached against - along with Sound Tracks and Overhead Projectors.

It was strange to me that they were screaming their lungs out about video and other things and an entire section of sick, wheelchair bound, oxygen machine breathing, blind, crippled people never got a message on healing and not one hand for healing was ever laid on them the entire conference.
BUT THEY DID GET TO HEAR ABOUT HOW EVIL OVERHEAD PROJECTORS WERE! Now - That is REAL APOSTOLIC isn't it??????????????

Yes, there is one Preacher here in CA.(pulled out of UPC about 5 yrs ago)
who said it all started with "POWER POINT" . that was the beginning of the Down fall!! I know churches here that do not even allow missionaries to show SLIDES on a screen! woooow! okay, well it's their church i guess BLESS GAWD!
i know that one year at PSR they preached against luxury cars. some even went and sold their cars and got Fords or whatever. i can admire that
