In our ranks, isn't this like the pope saying, it's OK now?
Of course they have all been wrong on the issue, because beards are biblical. I don't have one though, because I don't like them.

in the WD There are still many churches who consider people with hair totally lost on par with a murderer If Jesus came up with a long white beard and cane they would walk out in masse
that's just how it goes out here O well, you learn to live with it

No. I decided it would be best if I didn't go. The last time I went to a funeral at this church I got treated like dirt. So, rather than dealing with that again I will say my good bye to Bro Campbell privately. I heard it was packed though.

Sister, I put all that hurt aside a good while back. I just don't see any reason to subject myself to being treated that way again. When Sis Bryant died I went to her funeral and while I was in the line to go to the casket is when this one sister and another one decided they were gonna double team me and tell me about all the wrong I had done. I could not believe it. Here I was fighting off tears because of Sis B dying and these two women thought it appropriate to start berating me over my beard and having left the church. That's the last time I was there at SH and the last time I got the chance to speak with Bro. Campbell as well. Hopefully I will be able to get through to speak with Sis Campbell though. You don't stop loving someone just because you have disagreements and these people were my pastor and pastor's wife for several years. It certainly won't be the same with him gone.

Male pogonotrophy (the growing of facial hair; i.e, beardedness) is often culturally associated with wisdom and virility.

So, you have wisdom and virility because of a beard? Or is it that you are showing that you have those attributes by having a beard?
