Lafon, i think it is just possibly that we have a definition of eternal that forces "forever, without end," when it may mean more like "set in stone; eternally recurring."

We will have eternal salvation but that does not mean the process of being saved continues throughout eternity. Likewise the result of judgement will be eternal but not eternally taking place. The idea of an eternal torment comes from the immortal soul belief.

well, wadr, it sounds as if you are postulating--no prob with that; but then i would ask, "How do you know?" If we are in agreement that your final resting place is (heaven on) earth, as Scripture states, and not heaven as decreed by some religion, then those remarks seem to lose their relevance?

No one said that. There will be a judgment day and the wicked cast into Hell fire. I just believe like Jesus that their soul shall be destroyed while they are there.

I say almost no one believes in ANY kind of Hell. If they did they would live in obedience to Christ.

MTD, just where is it written that Jesus stated the souls which would be cast into hell's flames will be destroyed while they are there? It would be most helpful if you would give scriptural passages in support of your claims, else its just your word against whomsoever differs.
