I have experienced messianic music and charismatic music. I find traditional pentecostal gospel music sung with real conviction blows the charismatic stuff away. The wanna-be jewish-sounding music doesn't even come into the picture.
But then again I love byzantine chant, Handel and Bach, and a good banjo, fiddle, and foot-stomping praise. Oh and I love me a hammond!
Charismatic worship music, while some of it is good, is generally too sappy and, well, "effeminate" comes to mind. A lot of it seems designed to create an emotional response, whereas a lot of pentecostal music (old school) seems to have been written in response to powerful experiences with God. As opposed to trying to create an experience (which usually leads to emotionalism at the expense of the true moving of God's Spirit imo).
I can enjoy any music that is sincere. A lot of "worship music" regardless of genre doesn't strike me as truly sincere, if that makes any sense.
