Re: Obsessed with Church

My question is more to the motivation of not missing a service. To all you guys who go every time the door is open, and force yourself to go even with contagious illness. Why? I was using the facebook post as an example. This lady was praised for her dedication for going to church with the flu. In my opinion this is poor judgement. As a pastors wife she cannot just hide in the corner away from the majority she is expected to meet and greet etc. So in reality she is exposing all the people she "cares" about to the flu. My question is simple why? Why the fear of missing a service?

Two reasons for me.
1. God and church is the center of my life. So my attendance is my faithfulness to Him.
2. I do believe in healing and have experienced it many times the majority in church services.
Been a way of life for 54 years.
However some are not able I understand that.

Your reason # 1 is what drives my question. In your life is Church equal to God? Do you believe your attendance and/or performance at Church reflects God being center of one life? God is center of my life however Church turns me off. Please don't take my question as arguementative. I was drug to church as a kid everytime doors were open. My parents, although getting up in age, still go 90% of the time.

Jesus purchased the church with His own blood.
Jesus claimed to be the builder of the church.
Jesus is the Head of the church which is His body.
If church turns you off you don't love God. It is very simple.

I disagree with your last statement. ""The Church" and church and what it has become today are two different things!! And please understand I am using my own experience and observation. Also on the flip side of that you believe ones love for God should equate to a love for a church. This I don't believe.

The only reason church would turn off a child of God is if the church went off into deep error. Often though it's because the child of God has gone off into deep error somewhere.

I notice the church is the Temple or dwelling place of God. So where is God? IN HIS CHURCH.

the kind of elephant in the room is, why are you getting "sick?" This points to poor immunity, which i doubt the Bible is addressing at "is any of you sick."

Re: Obsessed with Church

I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe he died for our sins. I believe we receive the Holy Ghost. I believe God is every where ,all knowing etc. etc. I believe the Spirit (Holy Ghost) goes with us every where we go its IN us. I do not believe you have to go to a church and get "refilled" . I don't believe the Spirit just dwells in a building. I don't believe we should try to hold him in the 4 walls of said building. I don't believe as a Spirit filled believer that worship has to be done in what we call a church service. I don't believe the forsake not the assembling scripture makes a 3 times a week service attendance a doctrine. I believe if you are Spirit filled you should be able to go more than a week without the "church service". I don't believe one should have to be faithful to one local assembly.

I pray in the Holy Ghost at home everyday, read my Bible and walk with Jesus. The Holy Ghost is vibrant in my life in a daily basis. I also go to church every time there is service and usually an hour before the service starts to seek God for the service. If you have no desire to be a part of a local assembly and faithfully support a man of God and a local church then you dont have the Holy Ghost.
