Sometimes the Season aint' so Great... and isn't so Jolly...

I wanted to start a thread for those of you who are suffering thru this Christmas Season. Whether it's been a rough year, or you have some sadness in your life or you have lost a loved one during this time.

I want you to know that your appreciated here and Your loved here and God Loves You!

I know we have many threads on the joy's of Christmas but for many folks this time of year can be rough and doesn't add much to your life. But I want to encourage you that you can make it through whatever your going through just keep holding God's hand and he will bring you thru it.

Please post if you need prayer this year...

Randy...

Thank you Randy! I needed to read this. This is a really hard time for my family. My dad passed away 2 years ago, the day before Thanksgiving. So the holidays are bitter sweet. Please keep the Alicea family in your prayers. Thank you for being so sensitive and starting this thread.

This has been one of the most difficult years of my life for too many reasons to mention on a forum, but I've survived it. God never changes. He's the Solid Rock. Sometimes I've allowed myself to flounder in the swamplands - but the Rock was still there. Suffering? We are told that if we want to KNOW Him, we will suffer, so that's no surprise.

Philippians 3:10
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.

I feel unworthy to be on anybody's prayer list, but if there is a person out there with a few seconds of time to spare and a concern for others, please pray a short prayer for TalkLady2.

Thanks.

We are not looking forward to Thanksgiving in our family. This will be the first holiday since my 17 year old niece was killed in September. I know already that it's going to be a rough one. We always go bowling after we eat. That's something that Jamie looked sooooooo forward to every year. It's the only time of the year that she and Jenna get to go bowling (the rest of the grandkids all bowl on leagues, but not Jamie and Jenna). So I know that the bowling is going to be extremely hard. Shoot, I'm sitting here with tears running even just thinking about it.

I'd appreciate any prayers you all want to pray on our behalf.

And I'm making a list so I can pray for all of the rest of you who've asked as well.

It'll be a good holiday season. Just a rough one. But we're still celebrating. God is still good and He is still faithful and we still love Him more than anything.

Pray for those who won't post that they need prayer.

It's very different for me

- my mom has been gone for three years this Dec.
- my third year divorced
- my son is married this Christmas

Things change and you keep hoping for the Norman Rockwell Christmas. It can get tough, but I always try to look at the glass half full!

Great thread and I'd appreciate the thoughts.

It's a time to pray real hard. My prayer these past few days has been that God give me the strength to control my thoughts. Its real easy to get swallowed up by circumstances and grief. He's the only one that can see the hurt, feel the hurt and ease the hurt, all at the same time.
