Thad....what kind of question is that? You know I am UPC. I think there are those who opposed Res. 4 that would like to see what was described in the first post happen. They spout this stuff off as fact. Come on....advertising equates compromise?

I don't approve of the theology of the AOG. I wholeheartedly stand behind the doctrine of the UPC.

If you think for a single second it will remain at advertising with Resolution #4, I have a lake front cabin for you in Oatman, Arizona!

Why even discuss this Boom? A small minority in the UPC do not watch/own TV.

Thank you, BOOM!

This is the thought behind the initial post. No one said that advertising equaled compromise. It is the fact that, IMHO, this is the trickle that will one day turn into a flood.

I'm not buying into it, it may be a trickle effect, it may swell into something else, and it is difinitly a hot topic, (especially on the UPCI forum) But most all on that forum and with in my UPCI church have been unaffected. Still don't have a TV and still don't want one.

(Side note--Being new here I see alot of UPC bashing, just so my piece is counted I have been a member of UPCI for 37 years in 3 different churches and have yet to see some of the things I hear of on this forum, so like the other brother said on here, there may be some that have strayed but I really don't think you can lump a whole organization into a changing belief.

Every denomination, every movement since Acts has had its day. It begins with the rising of the sun in the East and ends with the setting sun in the West. As the lightening shines out of the East and sets in the West, so is the coming of the Son of Man as light that lightens the earth (the church) to reveal, to lighten certain truths that it (the earth) has prepared itself to receive according to its season...

It is my opinion that the UPCI is now in the early evening of its visitation of the light while the AOG is now in the very last glimmer of light in the West. It is detected by the absence of heat (love) that radiates from the sun (presence of God) which is prevented by the changing season toward agendas and political considerations and by the very structure of modern denominations.

This is how the Apostle Paul addressed certain Elders of the Church:

Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Today, this scripture is interpreted to mean: "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the popular vote of the electorate hath made you the overseers..."

The seven headed beast havng ten horns and crowns (denominations) is clearly seen rising up out of the sea. False prophets give it its power...the more false...greater the power.

OK...so I need a therapist? LOL

This makes me sad and afraid. But I believe God is going to raise up a people that will call on his name and believe what HE says not what their flesh wants to hear.

Maybe among those you know, not those I know.

I think the failure here is to create a clean clear correlation between allowing advertising and how that equates what the AG does NOT experience- Holy Ghost Infilling. Someone else brought out that the passing of Resolution #4 would not end at advertising.

They don't?

To make this less cryptic. It's the same Jesus I prayed to in the AoG I pray to now. It's the same Holy Ghost filled me then, as filled me more recently. I don't believe I'm the only one who has had these experiences.
