I don't believe that He takes it away, but I guess I think it can fade away if you don't keep it alive. The Bible talks about being filled and then about being re-filled. I think you have to keep yourself full of the Holy Ghost.

So do you believe you have the Holy Ghost inside you or are you constantly needing the Spirit from heaven? Does he actually give you the gift or it's a gift that he has to keep on giving you?

(Just trying to see where you are coming from)
I believe that it's the Spirit of God residing in me, but I do believe that I can lose it over time if I don't stay submitted to God. I don't think it's as easy to backslide as I was taught growing up. I think it's a very slow process, but eventually you can be totally away from God's presence.

Ok that helps, thanks.
Is there any scriptures that support you losing the gift?
WBF, there are some things that are a given that don't have to have scripture. One of them is that gifts can be refused or returned.
KJV
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
