Granted...

Evangelism is NOT revival.

Granted...

We need revival.

Granted...

We need to support the preacher and be in unity. We need to do a little junking and jiving.

However,

Just HOW do you have revival which is born in the saints of God...as he so eloquently pointed out. I do not feel that the answer was given in the sermon.

Am I wrong?

No. You are exactly right. That's why sermons like this only rev people up and tickle their ears with "sound bites". Any good speaker can do this if you know your audience. But answers ...? ? ? ?

Amen, bro. Raven....

I love the Huntley boys. Great men of God. But, this message fell very short of its promised objective.

There was a heavy emphasis on WHAT WE NEED but frustrated expectations of HOW to have that revival...unless of course, the idea is to juke and jive.

It appears to me that more and more preachers are not so much interested in zeroing in on substantive objectives but more to draw forth enthusiastic responses from appreciative audiences with spiritual rhetoric. It is a shame that so many have now become addicted to audience response. Reminds me of cotton candy...a lot of fluff but very little substance.

He spend almost the entire message in underscoring what he felt the NEED was after defining the differences between Evangelism and Revival but never really answer the question concerning how to have a REVIVAL.

Few would disagree with what the NEED is. I think we all know THAT. But hey...I like to juke and jive too, even though the old bones are a little rusty. There is a certain kind of preaching that will get 'em going everytime...for sure. Some are masters at it.

I just felt you needed another touch from the Lord.

I do think my generation(the twenty somethings) need to hear more about the actual requirements for revival. Thankfully, we've reached a lot of non-Pentecostal backgrounds and a lot of them I talk too don't understand things like Thurs.,Fri.,Sat. fasts for church on Sundays or one and two hour prayer meetings before church on a Sunday night.

I've found that a lot my age group thinks you walk in at church time and never think about the service before hand and everything be fine. Consequently, we wonder why our churches are dry and dead. Details, details, details are always great on how to do something right for God.
