Actually on some notes she screams on pitch. A lot of Apostolic singers have learned to do that quite well! JMHO

That was insulting.I'm surprised at you PM.
you need to apologize for that

Obviously someone really enjoys her singing the national anthem at political events, or they wouldn't keep asking her to do it. Often we are much more critical of our own singers and musicians than secular people.
I agree. If they have not "attained," it is best they have anointing and ability. In regards to being more critical of our own, that is normal. It is kind of like parents pushing their children to excel. They don't push the neighbors kids; they push their own. Being critical of our own is often constructive. Please don't misunderstand me. Some criticism is vicious and cannot be used constructively. Overall, you and I are in agreement.
P.S. Most of these legends possessed anointing and great ability in their earlier days which is what caused them to be endeared to us.

Re: Micky Mangun Criticized 4 singing of Natl. Ant

Ok...I did only got to like page three and then had to comment. You folks...not all just the complainers....sound like a bunch of old women sitting around trying to find something to tear apart. It is really gross they way that happens.... Sis. Mikey Mangun is one of the most anointed, gifted singers in our ranks. She has a style all her own, very distinctive! I personally love her singing. She is, next to my wife, one of my all time favorite singers. Not just her ability, but her passion!

Maybe I am the minority here, but I liked the way she juiced it up a little. I think she was trying to make a point on the 'free' part. I liked it. But, I am not all that traditional......

Come on folks....get out to the rocking chairs and stop all the tearing things down. God really doesn't like that you know! I get so sick of reading it too!

I actually joined Youtube so I could post to the "filthy" comment. I'm more of a traditionalist with regard to The National Anthem. Having said that....I don't feel that she "butchered" it anymore than another other singer that has put his or her "spin" on the original version.

I know first hand how difficult it can be to sing somewhere out of your comfort zone. As for the screaming, that song has such wide range, if you don't start lower than your normal voice, you will likely be screaming when you get to the highest notes.

I loved it.......loved it.......loved it!!! You go Mickey!!!!!

I loved it too, Big-Larry! Typical MM.

A lot of those people probably know her personally, and have been to the campground in Louisiana, or to their church. Especially the politicians!

Old and washed up or whatever some want to call it I still love to hear her sing... Anointed... yep Rhoni... she has it! Hubby drove thru there on the way home from work and picked up her newest CD as they took the first ones out of the box... love it!! No matter how young or how old... she has something special and many love her because she is just Mickey!

I liked the "Free.." and as a Child of God it struck a chord in me.

I've heard so many murder national athems over the years... I don't think she did.
