Oh no....you mean having the food stockpiled is not enough.......we also need to have a way to prepare it.....

I knew a Morman once that told me he had a years supply of food. I asked what happens if folks find out about it. He said he modified the teaching to having a years supply of food and ten thousanhd rounds of his favorite ammunition........

Could well be......seems Gideon armed himself to protect Isreal's food supply at God's direction.......even so, if soul was prepared to share his supply perhaps the Lord would multiply it............

I rely of the Lord to handle all the multitude of things he has not given me the ability to handle. If He's seen fit to give me an ability I ought to use it best I can before I ask for His help with it.

Necessary = shoes.

Unnecessary = fifteen new pairs of stilettos.

Necessary = medical care.

Unnecessary = purchasing all fifty-three seasons of the hit drama "ER."

Necessary = utilities.

Unnecessary = 72 inch flat screen with surround sound.

Oh man - no more Stilettos! That just reeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, a friend of mine is the manager of the bakery in our local grocery store. I asked her in what way was the economy affecting the grocery stores.

She said that the bakery is not a necessity and they have seen a big decline in sales for that department. I can see that. Most people are going to scale back on things that are not necessary.

I do one big shopping trip a month. If the disaster hits at the beginning of the month, we'll be good for..well...about a month. lol If it hits at the end, I'll be begging from neighbors within days.

I've shopped once a week for years. I never have to go back during the week - I have it down pat! The most I spend is about $150. I usually only spend about $125. If you buy meat, fruit and vegetables and have that in mind, you will always save!
