And if they are not finding the proper records, are they not breaking those laws?

How are they getting welfare assistance without SS #'s? If they have SS #'s, they have to have birth records somewhere, right? Why are they having a hard time locating those documents?
I just heard that a book was found with listings of men and their spiritual wives. From what was just said it appears that all of those looked at on the list so far were 16 or older. I think the age of consent in TX is 17.

From my understanding there isn’t any law requiring birth, marriage, or death certificates. Also I don’t think people are required to have a SSN. I think there are some in the Amish community, German Baptist, and even Christian Science that don’t have them. There are clauses in the law that allows people to forgo those records and paperwork out of religious convictions. I believe they are receiving benefits through provisions in the law that recognize these rights.

AS to SSN... no they are not required. BUT to to use children as tax deductions or to get any benefits they must have them.

I bet there is a lot of misinformation concerning this group...

Many people wronfully think Amish don't pay taxes....

If all of this is verified fact, can you provide me some sources so I can know for sure all this was happening?
I think it was just released that they have 10 women that are proof of abuse/underage marriage/rape victims.

I'm assuming they are either pregnant, or have babies young enough to prove they were pregnant as adolescents.

Not sure why they are calling them women though. If they are minors and pregnant right now, I would think they would call them girls/children.

I know I am moving into politically incorrect territory.... But I can't help but notice the resemblance to other..... ahem.... religious organizations here.
Surely the old paths, that these women are following must be pleasing in His eyes!

The younger one in the middles looks sad, the other two look angry. There eyes look so empty, the way people look when they have gone through a trauma. You know they are just obeying their attorneys doing this and the men of the organization probably too, as they are so use to following orders from men. It makes my heart hurt.

I haven't been in the UPC since the 80's, but this is exactly what I remember many (most?) of the women looking like.

Then your memory is playing tricks on you. It is plain to see that those are home made dresses, and I have yet to find any apostolic church where the women all wear the same style of home made dress.

I saw many like that. The old AMF was even moreso this way.
