Re: Do u allow Running,Shouting,Dancing in your ch
It's a conditioned response Mark. Nothing more and nothing less. I don't think CC1 is judging anyones faith or sincerity, just whether it should be promoted as a goal in worship, or hailed as a higher form of worship.
It is a uniquely Pentecostal tradition... but that does not mean it's all bad.

What is funny, are the many people who visit our churches from other denom's because they love our worship and tell us so. I think we should appreciate the freedom we have in our churches to let out our praise!
Alright, really going this time.

I don't believe it's just learned behavior. I've seen the
holy ghost heal visitors and they started screetching,
some who had never been raised in our churches & recieved
the holy ghost got excited and started jumping around. no one
gave them lessons.
I think your background in the Amish molds you into this
mindset. That's not a putdown. most people often bring some
element of culture into their expression. I just believe that when
God touches us we should yield to it. That may be a different
response depending on the person but the point is not to
quench the spirit and not to mock the moving of the spirit. we
have to be careful not to judge what our flesh may distain.
Let me add one more thing. for the record, I do not believe
that shouting dancing & running is the height of spirituality
or the ultimate goal in every setting. there are deeper moves
of God but it is one expression and it is often the one that
is the conduit to a deeper move once our pride is out of the
way

Mark,
do you, as a person who often has a role as a musician, find liberty and occassion to regularly dance during your local assembly's praise unto our Lord?
It seems very rare that the musicians leave their post.

I am not Mark, but as for myself..... I have left " my post" and danced... But also, as a musician, that is also my praise.... There have been many times I felt God all over me even while playing...just as much as when I was dancing....

I have on many occasions. it is hard though since
I have to do about 5 things at once at all times
i tell my praise singers that i need them to stay at
their post. some of them would run to the alter and
start praying with people and leave the rest of us
hanging. There are others with just as much holy
ghost in them to pray with someone .
