Brother, you don't have to have a preacher for home meetings. We are planning on doing the following:
- Singing some praise and worship songs
- Praying for each other's needs
- Watching some online preaching
- Having Bible studies (already bought the book for the Epistle to the Ephesians)
- Visiting churches within a reasonable driving distance, as finances allow
I have found that it doesn't take a whole lot to get these kinds of meetings planned. For now we are in wait mode because the other family has to wait until they finish some classes they are taking before they will have the time to come meet with us. The wife and I have talked about doing some other things in the meantime, like enjoying some online preaching as a family.
Your idea to put an ad in the paper is a good one. I thought about that myself at one point, and may do that eventually. We have realized that we need fellowship, and I am not talking about going to Shoney's on Sunday nights. lol
