Well today is the first time I have wandered into this thread. I have seen the title but never clicked on it.

When I first saw the Subject of this thread my very first thought was... "I wonder if they deal with attitude & spirit".

They appear to have turned out to be about what I expected.

Her mother is a dear woman of God, a licensed UPCI preacher in her own right, always submissive and truly talented in many areas. Ruth's father was one of the best Bible teachers I have every known, humble, and honest to a fault. He loved his family and was very proud of his children. Ruth is the youngest, and was one of the most sheltered.

Ruth loved God with all her heart, and believed and hoped for the best when she married Mike Reider. Her sheltered life did not prepare her for the things she would encounter being married to a man who came from the world, had a lot of baggage, and after marrying Ruth...he fell back into what God had saved and delivered him from.

Ruth could have let the things she suffered take her down, but instead she held fast to God, what she had been taught by Godly parents, and set her eyes on the prize. Ruth is an overcomer and a Godly and anointed woman of God.

She was a wonderful young person, was on a Bible Quiz Team I coached in 1980. She kept herself unspotted from the world and lived a moral Christian life as a young person in our youth group. I was one of her teachers in the High School program at Marion Christian School. She always excelled in all she did.

I had the privilege of hearing her speak in Beaumont, Texas in 2005 and she is an excellent speaker; feminine and anointed. She dresses classy but modestly. She has always possessed a keen sense of style and there is always something she adds or does to make her look unique. We enjoyed many a shopping trip together when she was a teenager.

I am proud of the woman she has become. She gave me a copy of all her books, which I promised to read and did. You can trace her maturity level from the first book until the last book she has written. My favorite is, Adorned For The King. It encouraged me to change my dress to more more conservative, modest look that I used to know, but had gotten away from in my search for healing.

With that said, she has done more for God through her trials and has established herself as a Christian author...something I have not yet done, but have intention of doing in the near future because of her example.

We read her books, buy her books, and critique her books...but she remains the same...holy, modest, and accomplished...things we all strive for. I say, "Great work Ruth, keep up the good work, and don't let anyone tell you that you are anything less than the anointed, and Godly woman you are".

Your forever friend and sister,
Rhonda/Rhoni

I have not read this thread yet, only the initial post. I discovered these books a few years ago when RR was first discussed back on FCF.

I was mortified. Just when I think the UPC / OP's can't figure out a way to marginalize themselves anymore than they already have they come up with RR.

She is not content to teach error to only the ladies of the UPC at district sanctioned women's conferences but now is going to insure a whole generation of girls believing in magical power in their hair and stinking judgemental attitudes towards others who don't dress as they do.

I am not being smarty or joking when I say that the first time I read excerpts from these books those years ago I wanted to cry. It is a shame that this is being promoted in the UPC.

Add this thread subject to one more reason I could never see me going back to the UPC.

What she is teaching is heresy. It's intolerable, and perhaps one of the saddest things I have ever heard. It's so far over the line, that I cannot even fathom such garbage ever being purchased.

Speaking on the Ten Commandments.

Quote:
"And the last six deal with our love for one another. Honoring our parents, killing, adultery, stealing, bearing false witness and covet."

"Now, you're gonna probably laugh at me, but I can even find HOLINESS in the Ten Commandments."

"It says thou shalt not commit adultery. Well, ladies if I wear a dress that makes a man commit adultery in his heart when he looks at me then I've just committed adultery."

"It says, thou shalt not bear false witness. Well, if I smear something all over my face that is supposed to make me look like something I'm really not, then I have just born false witness."

"I mean, it's called "make-up" which means to lie, right?, so you see you can find Holiness in the Ten Commandments."
