No, I was trying to see how hard the ultra con dress code woulld be on the kids.

I imagine if CRNAs make 6 figures a year that an anesthesiologist makes much more than his underlings. His tithing will be a great financial boon to the church.

All the men in my nursing school class were going straight into ICUs so they could go on to graduate CRNA programs after their required 2 years of Critical Care. It scares the willies out of me, the idea of being responsible for putting a patient to sleep, ventilating them and then waking them up again.

My perspective has always been that if you are going to attend one of those churches it is best to comply with what is preached and taught. Many of the people who hold to these distinctives view them as salvational and even as qualifiers for fellowship.

If this friend has daughters...there is the problem for sure. Will they follow mom's example or will they find themselves in the position to condemn mom as well?

If they follow mom's example, it will only be a matter of time before they too are isolated from the rest of the obeying saints...they will not be used in the church and may even find it difficult to maintain friendships among the youth.

Beyond this, if the standards of dress are preached as biblical prerequisites...then how much confusion is being sown into the heart of these children even if they are not girls? I have never liked the idea of someone sitting under a pastor that preaches these things and deliberately living another life away from the church.

Your friend's family needs to comply or find another church...My Opinion Of Course (MOOC)....

As you know, this issue is much easier to reconcile for the man than it is for the woman...there is so much emphasis on the outward her direction.

All in all it is always best not to be the author of confusion in the eyes of the kids! I will give that advise both publicly and privately!

While I agree with you, I did not say that to him. I did talk with him about being fine with being a second class member of the church, because he can never be used. He loves the worship and music of the church.

He did ask me to pray for him that God would open a door at a hospital back in the middle Tennessee area. He was told of an opening at the hospital in Tullahoma, TN.

You should say it to him...IMO. The fact is real that this stuff is very important to those sitting under that pastor...and your friends kids are going to get caught in the middle...

How are they going to respond when other young people are gossipping about that liberal pentecostal girl across town who is backslid wearing her pants...and they know their momma fits that category?
