I don't get that at all.

“Church on the Rock,” is an independent congregation founded in January 2000

Re: Sarah Palin: Pentecostal?

I am reading the wikipedia writings.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin

Personal life and family

Sarah was originally baptized as a Catholic, but was rebaptized at age 12 by the Wasilla Assembly of God Church.[8] She currently worships at The Church on the Rock, an independent congregation, and describes herself as a non-denominational Christian.[89]

She married Todd Palin, her boyfriend since high school in 1988.[4] The two eloped on Aug 29, 1988.[4] The Palin family lives in Wasilla, about 45 miles (72 km) north of Anchorage.

The Palins have two sons (Track, 19, and Trig, four months) and three daughters (Bristol, 17; Willow, 14; and Piper, 7) [Ages as of August 2008].[90] Todd Palin has said Track's name came from the interest Sarah's parents had in the sport; Bristol was named after Bristol Bay in Alaska, where Todd grew up and where he does commercial fishing; Willow was named after Willow, Alaska; Piper got her name because it is uncommon and "a cool name"; Trig's name is Norse for "strength".[91] She gave birth to Trig on April 18, 2008, while in office as governor. Though she announced that she was pregnant only during the start of her third trimester and one month before Trig was born, her pregnancy is reported to have surprised Alaskans, including her staff.[92] After her water broke, on the day of Trig's delivery, Palin delivered a keynote address in Texas and then flew 8 hours to Alaska.[93] She returned to the office three days after delivering the child.[94][26] The baby, as prenatal genetic testing had shown, has Down syndrome;[95] Palin's decision to have the baby was applauded by the pro-life community.[96][97] Track enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 11, 2007, subsequently joining an infantry brigade, and Palin has said he will be deployed to Iraq on September 11, 2008.[98][99] Alan Colmes has reported that Track was born on April 20, 1989, less than eight months after the Palins' elopement.[100]

Todd Palin[101] works for the oil company BP in a non-managerial position[102] and works as a fisherman in his hometown in the summers. He is a world champion snowmobiler, winning the 2,000-mile (3,200 km) "Iron Dog" race four times.[4] Neither her husband nor her son Track are registered Republicans, and neither have ever registered with a political party;[103] over half of Alaskans are registered as nonpartisan or undeclared.[104]

Palin hunts, ice fishes, eats mooseburgers, rides snowmobiles, has run a marathon, and owns a float plane.[27][105] According to her spokeswoman, Palin has traveled abroad twice: once to Ireland, and in 2007 to Germany and Kuwait, where she met with members of the Alaska National Guard.[106]

Sarah Palin's sister is Molly McCann, the former wife of Mike Wooten.[107] McCann and Wooten were divorced in 2005.[107]

This quoting in Washington Post saying: "Gregg Erickson: You are right: smart and tenacious are good words to describe our governor. She was in Texas this spring when her water broke. Rather than staying there to have the baby, she jumped on a plan for an 11-hour flight back to Alaska, so her baby would be a Alaskan-born."[108] So, this kind of issues make problem judgment, which didn't made sense for safety of baby and lying to Alaska airlines to avoid policy. But one more issues could be fake pregancy, which speculating daughter pregancy, which only 16 years old and due to opposition to abortion.[109]

Re: Republican Vice-Pres. Nominee is Pentecostal

Here is why I find this talk about Sarah Palin so interesting.

The morning they were going to announce Mccains VP pick I woke up from this dream:

I was in a room with several women. The one standing next to me I noticed was wearing a headcovering. When the other woman saw it she had a look on her face like "I guess thats what I should do". Then she put one on.

Looking back to the one beside me I was drawn to something that looked odd. Her hair was kind of "piled up" like a Pentecostal woman might wear her hair. What was unusual was I could see that her headcovering was attached to her hair with small pieces of tape.

Then I saw a man start talking to her using sign language. I then woke up.

I had no idea what this might mean so I prayed on it before getting up.

I thought it was significant that "sign language" was involved.

I got up for breakfast and knew the VP pick was going to soon be announced so I turned the TV on.

They were saying something like "rumors are floating that Mccain has picked Gov. Sarah Palin". As they spoke a picture of her came on the screen.

When I saw her "piled up" hair I knew immediatley this was the fulfillment of the dream. This woman would be the nominee. It went on for about a half hour or so with them talking about this with different ones giving their opinions if it was true.

I felt the Lord had showed me it was. Then they announced it was true.

I had read part of several articles about this woman in the last month but had no idea she would be ahead of someone like Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee and I had never seen a picture of her that would tip me off as to how she wore her hair.

Anyway that makes all this personal to me.

Did the Lord show me that just for my own blessing in intimacy with him as he has done many times before? Or is it to pray for her because he is going to use her in his sovereign plan? I think the lord was giving me a "sign".

I believe things dont just happen. I plan to pray for her and will be hoping good things will come from and for her.

I can't answer your question. I had a similar experience before Bush was Governor of Texas. God spoke to be when I was praying and told me to pray for he and his wife because he would be our next President.

I don't know why to this day, except perhaps to just cover them with prayer.

I am curious - do you have any idea of the significance of the headcovering ("piled up hair") being attached with small pieces of tape?

No but I was particularly drawn to it as if the Spirit was intensifying that piece of info. Also just to clarify the headcovering was a veil. It was attached to the piled up hair.

Church on the Rock is not the name of the church that I saw in an article and quote from her pastor. It was something or other "Bible Church".

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Republican Vice-Pres. Nominee is Pentecostal

I cannot handle getting sucked into another election cycle abortion conversation, but let me just ask a direct question.

If I do support the Republicans again in this election in large part due to the abortion issue, what exactly have they said they will do about abortion? Please cite something direct that you can attribute to a real, live person. As it stands 1 million children stand to die next year no matter if we elect Obama or have another year of GOP. So we need to do and know something concrete.

I will not vote for someone who says if his (Obama) daughter makes a mistake that he does not want her penalized with a baby. Abortion for birth control, for convenience, to avoid the harvest of mistakes, I will vote for the one that says abortion is wrong, and that he will be pro-life president.
