not necessarily.... the problems arose when people stopping attacking the idea/concept and started attacking the "opposing" person(s)

Then again, some people seemed to think that attacking the post/idea/concept was attacking the person.

I prefer attacking the person...why waste the time arguing with every single post? If you make the poster look like a moron, you have saved yourself looooots of time

But for many of us, what some consider just "man made " doctrines or rules, they are the things of God...so there will be endless debate on that....! So people do become passionate about those things....it will always be...

key concept: attacking the idea/principle, but not the person....

NFCF debates often led to personal attacks; thats where it was bad....

What things constitute "the things of God"? How people interpret specific passages of scripture? What particular practices a local assembly engages in that are based merely on interpretations of scripture (or simply on man-made, i.e. not scriptural, traditions)?

Our goal and purpose in bringing this forum to life is a lot of what I have read in this thread.

A safe home to post
No preacher bashing - from those that would be considered ultra lib to those that would be considered ultra con
No tearing down of the Message - Acts 2:38 - John 3:5
Respect one for another
Good debate
Passionate responses
Dumb jokes (had to put that last one in there to give me a right to be able to post.

It must be working 203 members as of this writing.

Glad you all are here.

Thanks for showing up.
