E-85 ethanol is used in engines modified to accept higher concentrations of ethanol. Depending on composition and source, E85 has an octane rating of 100 - 105 compared to regular gasoline's typical rating of 87 - 93. It's big in the Midwest. Texas is beginning to sell this at more of stations. Postal Service uses it in some of their postal vehicles. I believe there are about 1500 service stations in USA. It's common in Sweden and Ireland. When made from corn, it reduces greenhouse gas emissions and carbon monoxide emissions.
