Sounds Too Good To Be True

I got a call from the GM dealership I bought my Chevy Optra from almost 2 years ago,
he said that I was at a higher interest rate & he thought he could get a better rate & a different vehicle.

I said I was curious & he went to work.
He came back and said I was approved for a lower interest rate & lower monthly payment on a brand new 2008 Pontiac Montana Minnivan which we have always wanted for our family.

He said, I need your pay stub, I said that I have been on WCB this year & he said, that is right, you told me. Let me check.
He got back to me & he said that they waived the requirement for a pay stub seeing as I never missed a payment on the Chevy Optra.

We are supposed to go there tonight & it seems GM is desperate to move the vehicles.

I like GM & I will be having a car payment one way or another either on my Chevy now or a possible Pontiac in the future.
Gas prices have fallen & I don't expect them to rise soon.
The economy can't take it.

Anyways, I would appreciate any advice & prayers.

I have been considering this for a while & I always bought the Car with the intention of getting a Van for the family in the future.

BTW, I would not keep the Car.

Your thoughts?

I think there will be some really good deals for folks.

One of my employees got a call this morning from a dealership she was shopping for a car this summer. They seem to be desperate for business.

So if I can swing it, you say go for it?

Would you sell your other car, or trade it in?

How much are you adding to your current debt?

If you are getting a lower interest rate, and a lower payment, and will be able to get as much for your old car as you owe AND you are not increasing you debt significantly, then I say consider it.

But keep in mind that you are most likely increasing the term of your debt, as well as the amount, which to someone who hates debt as much as I do, is never a good idea.

But we don't live in a perfect world, so you need to consider all the possible consequences of your decision, and do what's best for you and your family.

Don't have any advice Ron, but will be praying for you to make the right decision.

Thanks, I appreciate this.
We also desire a Van to have the potential to pick up people and bring them to Church.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?
