good grief Dan, I get you don't like any kind of traditional OP trappings. I get that completely. God in his heaven knows you have pointed that out plenty of times! We all get that you don't like long hair, long dresses and I suppose you think holes in ears are a form of worship to the great Lord above.

and good for you too....

but do you have to do this continual attack on the UPCI and the things it does? YOU LEFT DAN.

You left. You have your own deal now and good on ya. How about leaving the rest of us alone. Here is a news flash for you. The UPCI doesn't speak for you. The UPCI isn't in the business of strong arming any of the myriad or other organizations/pseudo-organizations/and various and sundry groups who either used to be UPCI or never were UPCI.

The UPCI is about itself. The UPCI wants to hold on to some things that are still important to the membership of the organization. Move on. The UPCI isn't "sanitizing" any thing. The UPCI isn't "censoring" anything.

The UPCI is simply saying this is who we are, what we have been, and what we intend to be in the future.

Your use of the words "Sanitizing" and "censoring" are attempts on your part to marginalize and demean a group you happily walked away from.

There is an old song. some of the lyrics are appropriate. Don't go away mad, just go away.
This is a posting that I can respect and agree with, in principle. UPCI has every right to take a pause, come to a consensus determination on who they are now with respect to yesterday and tomorrow, then declare their identity. I don't agree with many of their stands, but I am willing to agree that they have every right to take them.

Re: Monopoly on Apostolic Identity is no more ....

A lot of people agree completely with this Ferd.
I've got friends who've left and they're over the UPC and the UPC is over them. They don't feel the need to change me, nor I them.

Thank you Ferd, for saying so eloquently what many of us are thinking!
I am sure glad DA didn't get rid of the big bad UPC before I came into the Church!

What irritates me is that it is an issue. folk dont like the Apostolic Identity as reflected by the UPCI, then fine, do your own deal. But do we have to stop down and bash the UPCI every time some preacher in the organization decides to suggest that the UPCI still olds to some views others have let go of (or never held)?
It makes you wonder.

I agree. It is a waste of time to try to change people who are 4th and 5th generations pentecostal.

Personally I feel like the greatest progress will be made when these guys start forcing the issue of holiness/standards and the real debate will start.

My biggest problem is that there are young people who are sincere who follow the rules out of respect. I was one of these young people and I was conflicted deeply because I really loved the culture and MY APOSTOLIC IDENTITY.

Then there are young people who love the message and live the life because they choose to..

Not everybody will go the way some have...

We're not going around this merry-go-round again are we?
It seems that there is way too much emphasis on making oneself holy on the outside. (See Gal. 3)

Just reading this thread, but had to stop right here and respond.

After looking at those legs, and remembering the Speedo pic, I can say with assurance that there is nothing holy about those legs of yours!!!
