Watched Fireproof
I watched Fireproof last night. I highly recommend this movie. I am not big on watching a lot of movies but this is one of the best I have ever seen.
It is a low budget film which seems to add a little to the movie in some weird way.

Re: Watched Fireproof
In an interview with Kirk Cameron, he said that his wife was actually the one he was kissing... which is why they had a "silhouette" of the kissing scene... He said that when he made a vow to his wife, he meant it... and he's never kiss another woman..... so in this film, he was kissing his wife instead of the other actress...... I thought that was incredible... that speaks a lot of one's character....

Re: Watched Fireproof
My hubby and I went to see this at the movies <gasp>. It was very good! We were having some significant problems at that time when it came out. I won't go so far to say it saved my marriage but it definitely encouraged us to work on it.
A few weeks after that we went to the "Weekend to Remember" conference held by Familylife.org. That was absolutely incredible. That absolutely impacted our marriage for the good. There was some great teaching about marriage that neither of us had ever gotten before.
I will say (from my experience) that the church doesn't do a very good job in teaching in these areas. Areas such as the wife's roll, the husband's roll, healthy intimate relationships.... and so on.
In that weekend we gained a wealth of knowledge. He was raised in a ultra con OP church (the one we are at now) but his parents divorced when he was five. I was not raised in church at all and my parents were divorced also. So neither of us had a good understanding of what a successful marriage consisted of. And we certainly didn't learn it in church!

Great movie! I'm secretly doing the 40-day love dare with my wife right now.

I didn't think they could beat Facing the Giants, but they did.
I sobbed and sobbed and sobbed.
The part we where he finally breaks down to his wife, and realizes his fault, is one of the best scenes, from any movie, I have ever seen.

My favorite character is the dad. You can feel his love for God and the total dependence on Christ. The scene at the cross is very powerful.

Yes it is.
My twin fifteen year olds cried at that scene.

You can find the book in most Christian Book Stores (Lifeway, Mardel, etc) but I found my copy at Sams...
