It is about time we started preaching about women who cover their faces!!!!! Glad to see you have come out swinging against this abomination. If we can get old time Pentecostal preachers as excited about preaching this as they do things not even in the Bible that will be great!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

CC1,

Now all I did was post a passage of scripture from Gen.38, beginning with
the 13th verse. I didn't come out swinging against anything!! Where did you
get that?

"Whatsoever is not of faith is sin." Romans 14:23

But I think this may be more of a Titus 1:5 type of problem. Basically, we have people with unregenerated and unbelieving minds attempting to define what is "pure" to those who are truly pure and believing in their minds. Such a contradiction will always lead to misunderstandings.

It's sort of like the "contradiction of sinners" (Hebrews 12:3) that Jesus was forced to endure; only in the case of Jesus Christ it proved to have fatal consequences. The people who condemned our Lord thought they were doing "God's service." They condemned Christ out of their own mistaken notions of what was holy and what was unclean.

When true Holiness walked right up to them and looked them in the eye, they simply failed to recognize Him. We have much the same problem today. The advice of the apostle in in Hebrews 12:1-3, is as vital today as any time.
