Obama's Pirate out reach plans

Isn’t it interesting to watch the drama when the shoe is on the other foot? While the world watches and condemns Israel for (1) protecting its citizens and (2) taking steps to bring murders to justice, re: the Israeli used of deadly force in response to acts of terror, we now watch how a handful of thugs can hold a U.S. flotilla of war ships at bay.

The United States cannot proclaim “enough is enough” like the Jews have, because we have not been subject to sixty years of high seas terrorism (pirates). We cannot send in the Marines to clean out the nest of pirates who preyed on our commercial shipping, like we immortalized in the Marine Corps Hymn. Nor can we send in the Navy Seals under the cover of darkness and extract our ship’s captain, knowing that they could do it quickly. Of course, if they should happen to sink the pirates’ boat as they sail away – oops!

My suggestion to President Obama, the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff – call off the navy, the FBI, shipping company executives and anyone else trying to cut a deal with hijackers, and send for our good allies and experienced hostage extractors, the Israelis. And, if they are still up to the task (still trained and equipped to carry out their mission) – send in the Marines where they can do the most good.

Sorry, we can’t do that, can we? No one in the entire world can do that. In order for the governments of the world to maintain their high moral ground, we must remain willing victims, at the mercy, and under the threat of pirates (terrorists), or loose our only argument for the condemnation of Israel - for taking a strong stand in defense against her publicly proclaimed and passionate (suicidal) enemies.

No, we must give into the pirate’s demands. We must pay the pirates their ransom demands and allow (or provide) them with safe transport to a port of their choice, even if they do not release their hostage!

What about the other pirates sailing in with captured ships and holding their hostage crews as human shields? Hey! It works on land in the middle east, why not on the high seas?
