I think the show paints them as being too nice. That's why I prefer to watch Jon and Kate plus 8.
Children are not always perfectly dressed, combed, clean, well-mannered and obedient. I would like the show much better if there were normal chaos--caught on tape. For that matter, I would like to see Mrs. Duggar disagree with Jim Bob about something. LOL!!!!!

Kate seems kind of cynical to me, but I haven't really seen it - just walked through the room several times, made smart-alec remarks until I was told to leave the room...
The Biggest Looser is on now- and I am banned from the "family room" due to my running commentary on "lardo's" carried over from last season.
*Like I should talk! I was being "ironic" and not philippic.

The news recently mentioned their son, who was just married in October, is expecting there first sometime in May. If you due the math you see that she must have gotten pregnant on their wedding night or within the first week. Now we will see if she follows the "9 months pregnant, 2 months NOT, repeat" pattern.

They got married in Sept, she's due in Oct.

Thats just it. I get the feeling that Ms Duggar will drop her fake face one of these episodes, showing a robotic exoskeleton underneath.
And your right. She has NEVER disagreed with Jim. The perfect Stepford wife.

Three things:
1. Our kids attended the local public school--actually a charter school--last year and the year before--and they did alright. It's a good school, mostly ran by the local Free Will Baptist church members. Sarah had a GREAT teacher, but Hannah's teacher was very neglectful, and I've spent a lot of effort this year filling in gaps in Hannah's education.
2. Last year our school's scores were #13 in all of Oklahoma, and #1 in our county overall. However, the individual grades were only great for K-5th grade, and in 6-8th, they suddenly took a nose dive. Since Hannah was already struggling, it didn't make sense to allow a decline to continue.
3. Class size. Jeffrey's Pre-K class last year had 35 students, most of whom would be in Kindergarten this year, and the school had no plans to split the class.
Okay, there's more...LOL!!!! I'll refrain from spelling out our entire philosophy on this thread.

I haven't heard many good things about the school system in Oklahoma. I do think it really depends on your school district, individual school, and teachers. That said, we live in a great school district and I still plan to homeschool.

We do homeschooling as well. 1st year and we're almost thru it. So far no regrets, other than the 6th grade Abeka program on tape which is trinitarian "bent"("God the Son", "God the Holyghost"), but we're changeing that next year.

Homeschoolers here as well.
Four graduated, two to go.
It amazes me what God has done with my ninth grade education.
He's been faithful!
