I always laugh when people say that there are no more young people wanting to live for God or live holy! God will always have the young men and women who, like Moses, are going to forsake the pleasures of sin for a season to stay with God's people.
What it takes is a minister to preach a vision to them. They have to have something more tangible to believe in. But... if that happens the hungry young men and women will rise to the surface and answer the call. Happens every time!
PS - U3... your tape is on it's way!

The church currently has three ordained ministers, all younger than 35, all preparing to pastor works somewhere!
We have young ministers and they all believe in Holiness.
We are getting ready to start a mission work in Mexico, with a younger minister.
There is hope, all is not lost, carried upon the shoulders of young, holiness, men of God!

I hear that your pastor erected a statue to Moroni. It also serves as a water fountain. Strange.

Re: The UPC is a dying movement!
Going over old posts of whining ex UPCers. They all sound like somebody’s ex wife or girlfriend. Especially the guys. But that is what our culture in this country has bred. Cranky complaining sore losers who leave a church, organization, job, marriage or any relationship for that matter. Then belly ache about it for the remainder of their lives. These jokers may not still be posting here, but you can bet your boots they are still sniveling somewhere on the Internet about the UPCI. Oh and complaining about Brother Lee Stoneking.

Many now have televisions, dvd, and are not ashamed to say that they go to ballgames and the movie houses.
You sure hit every bullet point!
Not to mention the attitude and spirit that goes along with this. The root of the problem is the heart. I agree. When your heart is unholy, your dress is unholy. You can tell a lot by how a person dresses and fixes their hair. I can spot a queer (or lesbian) in a matter of seconds based upon what I see they are wearing and how their hair is fixed.
James Randi would give you a million dollars if you could do this under labratory conditions!
These types of people are filled with anger also. Some are reading this with the hair on their neck already standing up, they need pray through to some good Holy Ghost convictions. Too think that someone would actually be interested in Holiness both inward and outward is foreign to most on this forum. So yes you are exactly right, the U.P.C. is dying. Until they get back to the Old Paths and start dressing right and get rid of Hollywood in their homes they will be DEAD. Define the Old Paths -of course when asked no one ever does because they can't. They are only a few elders away.

Re: The UPC is a dying movement!
The thread title is indeed inaccurate............Sandra says change is coming and it's exciting.........Really........Is this coming from the Sandra who would have no problems performing for the Benny Hinn crusade???For Creflo Dollar???????For Kenneth Copeland????????? And I don't know who you would sing for......But you have no prob with the TBN crew so I guess the Hinn/Copeland /Creflo Dollar crowd would be in the same group. These men were all part of the Oral Roberts University board of regents not too long ago around the time ORU was over $50 million in debt..........Mart Green (whose family founded Hobby Lobby) came in and rescued ORU by infusing $70 million.......but he wanted all the televangelists off the board beacause they were the reason the college was over $50 milllion in debt........and they are off the board now.....SO WHY AM I SAYING THIS??????????For this reason......You can't have cred when you have no problems with this bunch...........So Sandra, if the UPC is a dying movement then would you jump on Bennie Hinns bandwagon/sing for his crusade?

Re: The UPC is a dying movement!
This is a GREAT thread!!!
What controversy!!!
On one side we have those who say that the UPC is dead because... 1- there are no young men joining up, and they are glad and 2- because they pused holiness to hard and it is not important...
On the other hand we have those who say that the UPC is dead because they walked away from holiness and they are glad...
Just like a good boxing match,
And in this corner we have the Yoheites.....
And in this corner we have the Westburgites....
Ah, where's the popcorn!

Re: The UPC is a dying movement!
There is no doubt that every group has problems......But if the change that makes you happy is for people to assimiliate/look like the hucksters that ran ORU in the ground then that is profoundly sad (and I care not for ORU) ...........so when you speak of a group that is declining.......ask yourself who you choose to associate/perform/sing with.....there may be a number in that crowd in steep decline.
