Prayer for Job
Hi all,
Please keep my husband and his job in prayer. He likes his job......except that at present his boss expects him to do about 80-90 hours worth of work in 40 hours. It is driving him crazy. He has talked to his boss numerous times and she just blows him off. He asked her to help him prioritize what is more important and she says all of it. They hired on another person to help him, but then at the same time put a bunch more work on him (about 25-30 more hours a week)....so she thinks he has all the help he needs, which is just not fair. He works about 11-12 hour days already and is falling further behind daily. He is job hunting but would rather stay where he is. He is talking with Human Resources this week.
Thanks!

Re: Prayer for Job
Wow - - that seems to be what is taking place in a lot of places.
They can't afford to hire more help, so they just work everyone double.

Yes....and my husband does scheduling for a medical center. He accidentally scheduled an ob-gyn wrong and it took the medical staff 1/2 to figure out who they were supposed to call while a woman was needing an emergency C-section. The people who double check the schedule didn't catch it either. Fortunately, things turned out okay. My husband is blaming himself for this (and is BEING blamed) but I told him it is NOT his fault. He told his boss that when this project they are in hit full force that it was not going to work and she did not listen. He told her this MONTHS ago. They cannot expect superhuman results from people. He is on sleeping pills, he can't sleep, he is so stressed out. He is expected to be in training for this project 40 hours a week AND do his day job. It's just stupid. He is ready to walk out but then how are we supposed to pay the bills? So, it's at a critical point, definatley. Please keep him and us in your prayers....

Re: Prayer for Job
Praying for your husband's job situation; and the stress and lack of sleep it is causing.

Re: Prayer for Job
Am praying ILG. And Renda is right. This is a trend that is becoming more and more commonplace. Its seems alot of companies are piling on more and more work by downsizing the staff and expecting more from the retained staff. I was talking to a sister who has worked for the same company for nearly 30 years. Management seems to be overloading her with extra duties and she is wondering if they are trying to "force" her to quit before she retires or so they can hire someone younger and/cheaper. My brother says his company is doing the same thing. Overloading him with duties that, he says, make it impossible to keep up.

we had a meeting today, they have hired 6 more physicians, and like 10 Hospitilist.. (Doctors who work hosp only?? lol ) I'm like sure... whatever. Anyway... that means more charges, more billing, more collecting and no added staff.
When we asked about more staffing, well, possibly this Spring. There are budget cuts every where, so I have no idea what they will do.
They cut out overtime completely and that is hitting me hard, it was my "second" job.
