It is just EA went kinda MIA due to them beginning at $5, then $10, then $.01 then back to $10.

A group the size of EA running a "social networking" site might have a problem getting a critical mass that would sustain itself through advertising alone.

Facebook (along with MySpace and their Zynga parasite) have approached that mass - but all of these folks are still looking for buyers and "investors" and other funding sources constantly.

AFF is a pretty lean machine with its V-Bulletin platform. Comparatively lean, especially when compared to the huge server farms needed for a full blown "social network."

Right now the biggest overhead involves Renda's shoe and pedicure budget. Prax and MOW have taken second jobs as carhops at Sonic to try and help carry that expense.
