I may be guilty of being to literal here but no where in this particular passage does it say or indicate that Peter acted alone.

vs. 14.......they sent for Peter and John

vs. 15......they both prayed for an infilling

vs. 17 they both laid theor hands on them

Later in the chapter are we to believe the Eunuch rec'd the H.G.?
We don't know if the Eunuch spoke in tongues ... but I believe Epley was referring to why Peter ... was present ... making a case for him somehow holding the KEYS..

I'd always been taught the "keys to the kingdom" is Acts 2:28! and loosing someone of their sins happens in water baptism.

It seems Peter was always present and verbal when the Holy Spirit came upon a different group of people for the FIRST time...Jews, Samaritans, Gentiles. Peter never acted alone in Acts 2, Acts 8, or Acts 10.

Finally, you aren't speaking like a Baptist! A baptist grammarian I know states the rock is Peter because Peter is the antecedent, much like the Roman Catholic church believes.

The gates of hell cannot prevail against the church, not visa versa!
