Re: TB has LS preach Holy Magic Hair again!

Has LS actually made a statement alleging he doesn't believe in what has been dubbed "Magic Hair?" Rob never followed-up. I really would like to see it. LS and I obviously disagree on his uncut rendering of 1 Cor 11, but I'm curious how he resolves the laying hair on people for healing syndrome.

BTW, Robert I was not hurt by anyone in the org as you falsely stated to perpetuate this myth you've fabricated in your mind - He was hurt and is just bitter.

I owe quite a bit to OP circles and believe Truth to be more important than supporting men who teach against it.

I was asked to stay by every one in my circle to stay when I chose to leave.

Lee Stoneking - "Holiness- Separation from Worldliness" 12/31/96.

"I've watched this year. I know some men that are powerful in the Spirit. Powerfully used by God. But, I've watched a couple of them, even this year, they came up against a problem and they could not find an answer to. They couldn't come to any kind of an answer, but the wife, who is in the background, usually, they had never cut their hair. One day he walked in just twisting his hands, one of them in particular, and she came to him and she said, "This is the answer here." And she mapped out an answer that was so perfect, he staggered at the wisdom in it. Do you know why she got a hold of that and he didn't? Because ladies, among us, who do not cut their hair are entangled with angels and the wisdom and power of angels that men are not connected to and they cannot be connected to it."

Maybe he didn't hear it. I know I was in the service and didn't hear it or it just didn't register.

Just bumping a few short references for Rob.

This is the quote that we are concerned with in regard to witches. Quotes by Stoneking as per Prax.

He then went right on to say: "I wonder what would happen if our women got out in the wind and took the pins out and let their hair down and just shook it. If witches can cast spells ... if witchcraft understands this, we as the children of God and having the word of God we ought to!"
I have heard him say that in the past.

Points made by DKB in his article, The Bible’s Teaching about Hair Length: Culture or Command?, which is linked in the first post of this thread.

* A woman is to respect the leadership of her own husband (Ephesians 5:22; Colossians 3:18; I Peter 3:1).
* Salvation is not based on hair length but on a continuing relationship of faith in Jesus Christ.
* If obedience is a sign of faith, does this mean that obedience in this matter can guarantee answers to prayer? Again, this question is based on a faulty premise. When we pray, we are not rewarded for our works, but we depend upon God’s grace. Moreover, God is sovereign; we cannot manipulate His actions.
* There have been reports of women letting down their long hair as part of making a specific, urgent prayer request. If the idea was to obligate God to answer prayer or to create a new method of praying, then this action was misguided. If instead it was a spontaneous act to confirm their consecration, then it could have been a legitimate means of expressing and focusing faith.
Quote:
Seagraves says these are the points that he and DKB agree on:

Here is where we agree: (1) the text is relevant for the church in all cultures and time periods. Paul’s words are not couched in the language of culture but of creation and nature; (2) long hair (from komaō and komē) refers to uncut hair ; (3) there is no magic formula enabling us to obtain whatever we want when we want it; God cannot be obligated to answer prayer.

Re: TB has LS preach Holy Magic Hair again!

Thanks for those posts, PO.

Hopefully Rob can see that this is not just mere name-calling.

This is also I want to find the statment LS has made that he does not believe this doctrine (that Rob referred to).

Dan, in fairness to this poster Rob... are you certain on that point?
You guys obviously don't see eye to eye... but hats off to him, as a pastor and UPCI minister to have the guts to post on here under his real name, where all the world can view.

I don't believe I know him or you, but this is an important topic, and personally I would like to see more encouragement for the discussion to continue.

Questions aren't wrong. Had Eve asked more questions in the Garden of Eden, she might not have been deceived. Asking questions of the Word of God drive us to study more, think more, and pray more.

LS has been asked some questions. To my knowledge, he hasn't answered them with any substantiated proof. At least give historical proof that can be backed up... but I would think he should provide Biblical proof, especially if you are going to feed the flock of God with these "concepts". These questions need to be answered.... and there is nothing wrong with that. We aren't hurting LS, we aren't hurting the UPCI, we simply want to see the truth.
