Who's they? Are you talking about Pel in the evolution thread? Timmy?
Look. Do you honestly think that people on the other side of the argument hate the Word of God and are the enemy? Or do you think that they have a lifetime of study and experience they are drawing from just like you. You think they waste time on these forums just to lead people astray? Really?
Using evolution as an example. I personally don't care one way or the other. Doesn't affect my walk with God at all. Do I think that God has it in is power to use evolution to accomplish his master plan? Sure. Do I know whether he did or not? Nope. Do you know? Nope. Does it diminish God's power to think that evolution could be a component in creation? No. Could he have done it all in an instant? Of course. I have a tendency to believe that God uses natural means (of his own creation, of course) to achieve his goals. To me, that is just as awesome as if it happened with the flip of a switch.
The reason people (like me) get so worked up, I believe, is that others claim to have THE answer when there is no way they could possibly have it. You read and interpret, Pel reads and interprets. Coadie reads and .... I'm not sure what he does. But, in my experience, people who make absolute claims about answers they have no way to know generally need some absolute answer in their own minds because they are afraid of the alternative. The idea that God could use evolution is not the answer you want to hear. Thus it's an abomination. It's the devil. It's false. The fact is, there are compelling arguments to be made for it without it meaning that anyone is demon possessed. (sorry, Coadie).
