Re: Race Card Anyone

Monkeyman - I know you very well (or at least at one time, I did) - and yet I am always disappointed when you make so many things about "race".

But..... I love you anyway, man!

Monkeyperson, I noticed you did not actually respond to the post I am quoting above. It directly contradicts your premise that somehow white NFL players receive better treatment from the league / justice system than black ones.

Of course there are more Black persons in prison in America as they commit the majority of the crimes. Now you can whine that this is because of their plight, that each should receive a Lexus and $100,000 when they turn 18 to make up for the days their great, great, great grandfathers were slaves but you cannot deny the incredibly high percentage of violent crime commited by Blacks. A lot of it black on black crime.

If Black culture embraced education and a work ethic the way the Vietnemese boat people did that came to America with only the shirt on their back then perhaps we wouldn't be seeing approx. 1/3 of Black men 18-25 in jail at some point in time.

Instead their street culture embraces how many women you can have sex with and how many babies you can father without actually being a father to them. This is a broad stroke and there are many exceptions but I am talking about values and trends within a culture.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Add Jesse Jackson’s ride to prominent vehicles being stripped in Detroit.

Following the embarrassing news that Mayor Dave Bing’s GMC Yukon was hijacked by criminals this week, Detroit’s Channel 7 reports that the Reverend’s Caddy Escalade SUV was stolen and stripped of its wheels while he was in town last weekend with the UAW’s militant President Bob King leading the “Jobs, Justice, and Peace” march promoting government-funded green jobs.
Read that again: Jackson’s Caddy SUV was stripped while he was in town promoting green jobs.
Add Jesse to the Al Gore-Tom Friedman-Barack Obama School of Environmental Hypocrisy. While preaching to Americans that they need to cram their families into hybrid Priuses to go shopping for compact fluorescent light bulbs to save the planet, they themselves continue to live large.

But... these threads amaze me.

I don't know what the truth is in these cases... (and neither does anyone else here)

But, apparently, it is impossible that BB was not convicted because she lied. These things happen. It must be that the evil white man gets off again.

There are so many possibilities in these scenarios but, apparently, only one is possible per the opening post.

If this is the true take then something needs to be done about it but I'd sure like to see these things presented as a series of possibilities rather than the absolute foregone conclusions they get presented as.

She did not lie.

There was just not ample "proof" of a CRIME being committed.

The prosecuter in Ben's case said that he would not prosecute someone for being a bad person, but if a law was broken, then he would prosecute (paraphrase).

As for Vick, I do believe that some in the public overreacted to what he was doing. There are folks who get away with so much more, whose actions affect so much more in a much more negative way.

Nevertheless, he was actually warned several times to discontinue his misdeeds and apparently thumbed his nose at the system and the folks who tried to warn him by continuing to break the law.

I didn't feel sorry for Vick at all, but I am glad he did get another chance in the NFL. I was glad to see that day!

Are you serious?

Are you really, really serious?

The examination did not find sufficient "evidence" of rape. They did find that Kobe's accuser had "male bodily secretions" from 3 different men in her "undergarments" the MORNING AFTER she was supposedly raped!

That was ALL ABOUT GETTING KOBE'S HUSH MONEY! She came to his room at what hour of the night? For what reason? PUH-LEEZE!!!

She got what she deserved and apparently alot more!

OJ did not get away with murder-- he's in jail today in part, because of the persistence of that womans family to financially bankrupt OJ and make his life miserable.

In his misery, OJ made some really desperate, and criminal decisions.

Re: Race Card Anyone

As for Leonard Little, I can't speculate because I don't know what the "normal penalty" would be for killing someone while driving drunk. His sentenced seems lighter than what I would think is "right", but his race had nothing to do with it. It was his status, and ultimately, the Grace of God displayed in his life.

Then a couple years later, he is arrested again for DWI, admitted to the cops he was intoxicated and still found, "Not Guilty."

Honestly, I don't understand that at all.

Status should only be able to get you so far.

Actually should be only able ot get you NOWHERE when it comes to the equal enforcement of the law-- however, that's just not the way it is, apparently.

Are you serious? He's in jail because he was part of holding folks hostage at gun point.

The whole thing started because of OJ's LACK of money-- to the point that he had to attempt to "steal" his own stuff back.

That woman's family was ABSOLUTELY THE KEY in creating the circumstances in OJ's life where this could even happen.

So yep, I'm serious and I have facts.
