I don't think that their very valid concerns relate to every chapter of the Komen Foundation.

Hey, we're all adults... If some golf bag toting preacher wants to outbid his cohorts by thousands of dollars for a pair of musty, thread bare Bostonian or Dexter shoes to pad the private office's collection of prized conversation pieces while on all expenses paid business trip ... That's his choice. It's not his money anyways and who even cares if most of it goes to the largesse of a cash hemorrhaging bureucracy.
Falla says go for it!

Re: Your thoughts on the Shoe Auction @ Conferenc
Despite these claims, is there anyone who can confirm this actually happened beside canam, and appearently sis falla.
I am skeptical, but kinda like Paul said " I partly believe it".

I with Liberal, I'm hoping this is a bad joke. I want to say I can't believe it, but I guess NOTHING would shock me anymore.

Re: Your thoughts on the Shoe Auction @ Conferenc
My wife watched the shoe event last night on the internet feed.
I wonder how much the sandals of Jesus or Peter would fetch, and what would Jesus have to say about such 'offerings'? Now that one owns such a par of 'apostolic' shoes, what are they going to do with them? Put them on an alter, a pulpit, a glass case in the vestibule or a private office? What about a safe deposit box?
How much could a mere saint be charged for being allowed to rub one of the shoes and say a prayer over them? Might be better than a rosary! What were those shoes doing there in the first place?
We have taken pastor worship to a new level.

I concur with the elder here...WHERE is Christ in all of this?

Isn't that the truth.
I was thinking the same thing - the people in the New Testament times actually knew JESUS. When he was gone, did they auction off his belongings? Think how much money they could have made to get the new church off the ground.
Absolutely amazing.
