My mother is a diabetic and she takes insulin and she has had a quadruple heart bipass. She also has other severe health problems.Because she is very sick she has to take meds or die. I on the other hand have what they call a mitral valve prolapse. My condition is benign but they put me on a heart pill that is also a blood pressure medication. Ive been on it for years before I found out that I cant get off of it because ill have a heart attack and could die.I dont feel very well half the time because the med drops my blood pressure to low.I have to go to the docter every
3 months just to get a refill so I can pay more money for the script.Im just saying you have to be careful with what you do.Love you in Jesus.

Hun, they put you on that med for that reason in the first place. If they didn't put you on that med to begin with, you could have a heart attack and die.

If you have having low blood pressure problems, address that with your doc. Are you keeping track of your blood pressures? Write them down with the times you take them and share that with him.

And a mitral valve prolapse isn't a benign condition. It's a serious one. It might be considered mild, but it's certainly not benign. This condition can also cause you to feel weak and tired often. Address your feelings with your doctor for other options in medications and/or treatment. There are several out there.

I am on a drug called Levothyroxine. Why? For starters because I am always feeling "weak and tired". LOL Actually it replaces a chemical that the thyroid makes naturally -except mine stopped making it. Would I die if I stopped? Nope. But I would (and have) always feel weak and tired and downright lethargic. Lazy even.

As a nurse, I'm all for educating people on their health and medications. I do it everyday.

We have the stuffed "Fleet's" mascot (from a drug rep). His official name is "Ena Man".

Re: Saints on Drugs

I agree that the worlds answer is not Prozac. I also understand that many come to Jesus after shooting their neuro system full of junk causing alot of damage.
These people need balance because they have destroyed what Jesus made them to be. There is a place for things until the healing arrives but to rely on this instead of God is wrong no matter what kind of sickness it is. I will say that if you need a new liver, new heart etc that Jesus can give you one and cause the md to say....hey miss so and so...I don't know what happened but you don't need this stuff anymore. Yippee! We can get so that we think the doctors are God if we don't watch out. Common sense is good but it still doesn't make sense when a man is declared legally blind and the next moment for no reason that makes common sense he can see again just because he went up for prayer. So we cannot rely on human reasoning. The bible provides for our healing and what ever our needs are. We can trust God to come through. That is why after praying we need to stand in faith beleiving God. We may not see the manifestation yet but it will come if we live in the substance of faith.
