It is simply pointless to cite verses which we all believe.

What we want to see is how those verses actually support your prophetic theory.

you are not debating at all, all you are doing is posting verses, which we too believe.

I can post verses too to prove my point. here are a couple of verses that prove my point.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 - Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:52 - In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed

you see two can play the same post verses game and claim victory by saying those verses support our view, without ever explaining how those verses support our view.

i think however one defines 'generation' (which has already kind of been defined there, anyway; "this gen will not (entirely) pass away...") one should first determine whether israel's rise in '48 = god's budding of a spiritual tree, which i think we have previously discussed in a thread, and determined the answer to be 'no.' Which doesn't mean that it is 'no,' but that it def might not be.

Well, I think the best way to look at Eschatology is as Bro. Dugas once said in a class I attended.

He said..."Interpreting prophecy is like looking at at indistinguishable object that is very far away. As it gets closer, it becomes a little more distinguishable. Even closer and you can identify it in more detail, until it is right upon you and you can clearly see what it is"....The nation of Israel being regathered in our lifetimes is not just a "sign" but a "BANNER" to all nations in the last days. It is an undeniable part of MAJOR FULFILLED PROPHECY...

Isaiah 11:12

And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

100 years ago, the preachers could not figure out what to do about Israel being missing(non existent) in these endtime prophecies, but now they are "in our face" bro.

I no longer believe in a literal rapture as taught in the church. I do believe when we die, we go to one place or the other.

i would agree that in the 'seen,' this might prove to be true; but i wonder if we aren't using the wrong definition for 'israel' in this context, which may very well turn out to be israel's spiritual descendants, that is to say 'living stones,' and not the nation itself. While i surely can't prove this, i reiterate that many believers now doubt that the extant 'nation' of israel has anything to do with the 'fig tree budding' of Scripture.

i was raised in that belief, but have come to doubt it quite strongly myself.
