The paintings and ceramics are really great. These showcase true talent!!!!!
I missed the artistic gene, but I sew, or should I say used to sew, I look at old photos of my children and realize I made many of their outfits,(even for my son). What was I thinking?
My husband and I sing together; I sing a strong low alto, and in my younger days tried to perfect the Jean Urshan sound.
Back in the day I took piano lessons, but never mastered it for church. I used to play the sax by ear, but I'm really out of practice.
I do well in the kitchen, with cooking and baking skills.

I play the Keys, teach a vocal training class- I LOVE to do voice coaching!
I was recently asked to sit in on a rehearsal with a Men's quartet that is heading to Nashville this week to record. They wanted to me critique their blend and their weak spots, etc.

I hacked a database a couple of years ago for an anthropologist. The file had been created in like 1988 or something by a former grad student of his. No one at his campus could open it, so as a "last resort" he called me. It was actually quite easy to open. In fact, easier than hacking the password protections on that file DA sent me this evening (sorry DA, couldn't resist).
The only reason this even comes up as a "talent" is because I go for a job interview at a local University, hopefully! They've been screening folks like crazy and wanted almost a half dozen Personal and Professional References. I don't even know that many people, let alone that many Refs! I passed the first round and now await the cull for the second round. And I really need this job... pray saints!
I thought about that anthropologist as one of the "Tell a about a job where you solved a problem..." kind of questions. Do I tell them that all I did was open the file in vEditor and read the header for the correct program? (It was an ancient version of Claris available for free download on the Apple web site). I emailed the program to the prof in Ohio and away he went. The db was a listing of the bones of hundreds of people found in a 20,000 year old graveyard in the Ukraine.
All of my "talents" involve long drawn out explanations like that, except my French Toast. My kids love my French Toast even though I can't even eat the stuff any more. I guess there's a long story there too...

Something I am fairly good at and few people know about is auctioneering. I have done several fundraiser auctions but most have been outside of the area where I live. I have considered starting an auction business.
