She is teaching Angels protect little children who dont cut their hair - that is heresy - What do little boys do, to protect themselves, I probably dont want to know

They shave their God-given facial hair .... to gain entrance to the King

i.e. Joseph shaved to see Pharaoh.

The movement is now picking up steam!!!!

ANGELS WATCHING OVER ME - Kingdom KidsSeries Book #1; For ages 5-9 years old

Do you have "Angels Watching Over You"?

Another morning of getting ready for school becomes very exciting as Miriam learns many wonderful things about being a King's Kid. She discovers how the armor of God and her uncut hair protects her every day. Find out how special every boy and girl is when they are one of God's kids.

-----------------------------------------------

I was on the UPCI.org and I noticed that they had a photo contest going. I decided to browse a few of the submitted photo and I was shocked to find this among them. Is this a "new religion"?

This picture was taken at the Alabamas Ladies retreat. Sis Patty Twyman took down her hair to summon the power of the angels over the prayer requests. Many prayers were answered.

Quote:
Pentecostal Herald, July 07, "Experiencing the Power of Freedom. pg.14

"An entire hour passed and Andrew would not go back to sleep. We could not figure this out because we thought we had him on a schedule. Finally Leslie suggessted that I turn off all the lights and just go to bed. Ten minutes later Andrew finally fell asleep and Leslie came to bed. When I asked her what she did to make him fall asleep she said that the Lord told her to put her hair over Andrews head and pray in the spirit. We believe that Leslie's obedience in placing her long hair (her glory and her covering) over our son was rewarded that night".
----------------------------------------------------------

Those are the words of Juli Jasinski; a popular writer within our movement. They are lifted from page five of her book My Hair, My Glory under the Heading “Spiritual Findings in Pagan Significance".

Juli provides forty references scattered across seven pages of the book detailing the spiritual emphasis pagan religions place on the power of uncut hair. Here is an abridged sampling.

Quote:
Quote:
"Hair has always been considered strong magic; witches casting an evil spell needed a piece of hair from their victims to make it truly efficacious.”
The Power of Magic Secrets and Mysteries Ancient and Modern

“hair has physical powers that act as a protection from evil entities of the etheric world; cutting of the hair was done in a ritual to discontinue this protection; it is symbolic of strength.”
The Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary

“so widespread was the faith in the power of hair…that in Scotland it was ominous even to meet a woman with her hair uncovered…if a woman shook her hair at you, they believed anything could happen.”
Hair, Sex, Society and Symbolism

“St. Paul, Barbara Walker writes, greatly feared the ‘angels’ (spirits) that a woman could command by letting their hair flow loose, he insisted that women’s heads be covered in church lest the draw demons into the building.” In referring to 1 Corinthians 11:10, Walker interprets “because of the angels,” to mean the spirits were supposed to be attracted or controlled by unbound female hair.”
Barbara Walker Enc. of Myths and Secrets 367.
Juli Jasinski My Hair, My Glory 12.
----------------------------------------------

Jasinski goes on to say that “These are only forty of the many examples that show that hair holds great significance in the world of spiritualism, occultism, and paganism. I was surprised that almost all of these pagan references refer to Bible verses including the story of Samson and the verses in 1 Corinthians 11 concerning hair. This leads me to believe that the devil knows exactly what God intended for the woman and her hair. The devil, however, wanted to use it for his evil purposes but God wanted it to be used for our good.”

Sincerity doesn't make it truth.

Not to mention the reoccurring theme I have seen in my life in Pentecost that people in ministry who travel a lot alone are the ones who end up with marital problems. Keeping the homefires burning might be a new good topic for some women's conferences and popular women's conference speakers.
That's the ugly truth that the majority in the UPC, and other denominations for that matter, don't want exposed.

I've known of quite a few ministers, all UPC because it's what I grew up in, who were away from home too much and either the husband or wife found a playmate to get satisfaction from because they weren't finding it in the wayward, traveling spouse. That, or the traveling spouse found satisfaction on the road.

It's not a knock on RR . . . but all these people who travel alone for extended periods of time do seem to have marital problems.

As for the children's books . . . Hitler and others like him would be proud of this kind of indoctrination.

Blanket statements tend to detract from your credibility.

I do agree that there ought to be some teaching on couples making time for one another and perhaps traveling together whenever possible...BUT...being apart is NOT an excuse for infidelity. My husband is currently working in Arkansas, so he is gone Sunday - Thursday, and home for a 3-day weekend. Lots of couples are apart on a regular basis...military families, businessmen who need to travel a lot...etc etc...

If there is any "ugly truth" that needs to be exposed, it would be that some folks lack morals, and don't know how to keep their pants zipped and/or their skirts down when their spouse isn't looking. I don't think it has anything to do with ministers being gone too much. Chances are the same problems would exist even if they were together, if there is so little commitment that time apart leads to adultery. The only connection would be if there is already a problem, then time apart may make it worse, or give opportunity for things that were already desired.

My 2 cents.
