Re: Health, Wellness, and Nutrition Thread

I’m getting ready to look into the multi vitamin topic, from the other thread.
(not that I totally trust John Hopkins site that was posted)
I always take a daily multi from a good company like Now brand, but had never heard about just finding out a deficiency and working from there.
My wife and I have a monthly membership with Everly well, and we can(have) send off saliva testing which test several things.-Thyroid, free testosterone, macros, etc

https://www.everlywell.com/products/

A big obstacle for me is eating drive through lunches so often…I need to quit that nonsense and start bringing my lunch. And not just that, but a healthy lunch, every day. That’s going to take some intentional work.

I lift weights but need to do better about getting some cardio in a few times a week for my heart and lungs, especially since I don’t do powerlifts like dead lifts, powercleans, and squats, that also give u some cardio.

Re: Health, Wellness, and Nutrition Thread

Because I eat a plant based diet, and my blood work showed I was low on vitamin D, and I eat low salt diet (salt is a major source of iodine), I need to supplement B12, Vitamin D, and iodine.

The problem comes with taking a multivitamin that exceeds the RDA for vitamins, especially fat soluble vitamins like A, E, and D.

I take a capsule vitamin from Naturello that does not exceed the recommended RDA for anything along with additional supplements of Vitamin D and Iodine.

Also, I eat a mostly plant based diet with thought given to meeting nutritional needs along with strength training and aerobics.

I take no meds, am strong, and can run several miles in my sixties.
