What do people have against "in the name of Jesus Christ"? Why the unceasing demand to ensure some semblance of the trinity formula is present?
Jesus ain't enough, that's why. And what does that say about a person's faith?

So proud of all those participating in the Holy sacrament of Water Baptism this morning. When you go down in that watery grave, everything old dies, and you’re resurrected a new creature in Christ. #WHCLife

All Pentecostals and many groups would say this.

I like that one because it is actually emphasizing what Christ was describing in Matthew 28:18-19..

I hope no one gets me wrong here, but it gets to a point where individuals are coming up with their own formulas. Creating a incantation to go along with their own prejudices, or agendas. Like Esaias posted "whats wrong with I baptize you in Jesus name?" People have a tendency to accept what ever little is thrown their way to feel the opposition is just like them. I thought that once with the Church of God Holiness down the block. Until the day one of the young people of our church told us that he went to a meeting and the preacher preached that all Jesus Only weren't speaking in tongues. It was a demon who enabled them to speak in tongues. Or the Ruckmanites who told me that we were "water dogs" and kept quoting to me the lines from the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, by Samuel Taylor Coleridge; "water water everywhere not a drop to drink." Because we believe water baptism is mandatory. My wife and I attending a service where my family was preached against because of not only attire, but because of Apostolic soteriology and theology. Greek Orthodox bishop invited us to a Bible discussion (which was a trap) to prove to his faithful that SABELLIANISM Modalistic Monarchians were damnable heretics. My wife and I weren't what he expected. We were as sweet, and respectful as can be during the grueling 3 hours. Yet, when we asked the Bishop if he would like to come over for dinner, he declined on the basis we were heretics. I told him thank you for the invitation to the Bible study. I have been called Jesus Only by a Lesbian Trinitarian pastor from Wilton Manors Florida. So, I am pretty much over it. Don't get me wrong, I don't broad brush this thing. But the only way they will ever be like the Apostolic Pentecostal is to be Apostolic Pentecostal. I understand the whole differences within that movement. But honey child, I'd be in a UPCI church with Sister Kim Johnson as pastor before I had to sit in a Trinitarian church. I still send people to UPCI or ALJC, even Spanish Apostolic churches, if there isn't anything else. If God told me to go to a Trinitarian church then I would HAVE to go. But it better be Jesus, because they would hate to hear me saw wood on the pew.

Mathew 28:18..."All power (authority) in Heaven and Earth is GIVEN unto me"
Given by whom, to whom? The context is authority that is given by God (Father) to the Son (Jesus). The reference to the Holy Ghost is most likely an reference to the him being the Spirit of both the Father and the Son. Thus we are to go baptize with and into the authority Jesus says he has been given in verse 18. He is not teaching "the name of God" here. That simply is not the context. And he certainly is not teaching the Trinity.
