You have spent extraordinary amount of time to prove that women cannot be preachers? This is completely out of character with scripture, where God over the centuries has used those that are willing, He then equips them.
You are arguing to prove that Sis. Alvear should not preach, arguing to prove the unprovable, she is a missionary and preaches the gospel. God has confirmed her calling by saving many, many souls in South America from her and Bro. Alvear's efforts. She has confirmed that she doesn't usurp the authority of her husband/bishop, prefers that men take the lead, but will not shrink from speaking, yes even preaching if the situation presents itself.
I simply wonder why you choose to limit her ability to minister, when it is apparent that the work of the Lord is going forward????? Do you really think it is wrong for her to speak, present the gospel, or bible studies, if there is even one man in the room??? Why is this so important to you?

Re: Do You Believe In Women Preachers?
It is impossible to deny Paul had women traveling with his preaching group and whatever they did the women were doing also...
This is really going no where...some remind me of a church where I visited (of course with Brother Alvear) the pastor's wife was playing the organ screaming and worshipping, teaching songs...but low and behold sent the mike to my pew for me to greet the congergation...
I have never stood behing anyone's pulpit and bellowed like that lady...lol....
There is NO SCRIPTURE that says A woman shall not preach...but many scriptures where women spoke...
One church I went to the pastor said, We have Sister Alvear here with us tonight but we do not believe in women preachers so we want her to come up and prophecy for a while...my poor husband felt so sorry for me...I just grinned and went up to the pulpit and told them a missionary story....

Every bit of this describing winning the lost & I greatly rejioce in this [sincerely], but I Tim. 2 is plainly forbidding women to instruct men w/in the meeting of believers [i.e., those ALREADY saved]. Besides, it seems in your case that you went where men were afraid to go....which is a sad commentary on men, but does not mean that we just throw I Tim. 2:11-15 out the window.

Re: Do You Believe In Women Preachers?
Romans 16 mentions Phoebe as, “A deacon of the church at Cenchreae.” Her name means bright or radiant. Paul expressly includes himself among those to whom she ministered, calling her an overseer (prostatis). She was more than just a regular church member. No other person is called a prostatis in the NT, but later Apostolic fathers used this word in the masculine form (Prostates) to designate the bishop presiding over the Eucharist.
Paul commended Phoebe to the church at Rome, asking them to receive her (most likely she carried with her the book of Romans). The identity of the author of Hebrews has long been debated, and some scholars believe it could be possible that Phoebe wrote Hebrews (most scholars are fairly certain that Paul didn’t write it). Some reason that because the author's name isn’t evident, there exists a strong probability that early theologians removed the name.

Funny how you encourage women to disobey the Bible & then call yourself a "Christian"???? Hmmm, wonder if you might be a woman arguing in favor of women preachers? Whooda' thunk it!?

Paul was setting some boundaries that would help the gospel be more receptive in his day. With the attitude of men in that culture, if he supported women going to the men's side of the church and taking over, how far would that have carried the day?
BTW: Do you sit on the same side of the church as any women, do you have a partition separating the sexes? That was the context of the verse you present, I notice he said "I"do not allow, never attributed that position to God.

The Bible is plain: "I do not allow a women to teach, or to excercise authority over a man." This means exactly weaht it says.

I am not throwing out any scripture but I am saying we must look at ALL scripture and evidence...
I have seen my husband sit women down but I have also seen him sit men down...anyone OUT of there place is wrong...
Yes, I have taught men...was I wrong? NO, I taught them what William Branham preached ....they were glad for my help....
I taught about the HOLY GHOST (speaking in tongues) to a Baptist church...the pastor sat and listened and God filled some of his members that day with the Holy Ghost.
I taught in an Assembly of God church ( that certain pastor did not at all believe in women preachers) but since his son in law married a girl from one of our churches he was over riding his doctrine to be nice) and ended up being baptized in Jesus name...
So where ever God opens a door I will walk through...yes, laughed at by some...but in search for souls on my part...
Truthseeker, RDP, you have nothing to worry about I would never lift my voice where ever you are at...my voice is for those that have never heard or for those that request my help...I don't just barge in beating on pulpits...
