Not at all - this thread was started just a bit TIC so I guess that's why it has gone in the direction that it has.
I will say that if I PM someone and get a bit of interest going between us, then "plan" a meeting that it is COMPLETELY WRONG.
However, this incident was Hoover suggested a book - I bought it and read it and it was very good. I knew he was about 15 minutes from where I was in St. Louis and I pm'd him to ask if they were going to be out and about and maybe we could meet so I could give him the book so he wouldn't have to purchase it.
He pm'd that his kids were playing and his wife enjoying her family, but we could meet at Starbucks about 10 minutes away from both of us if that would work.
I said that would be fine - my son and I met him there, had coffee, talked a bit, I gave him the book and left.
IF someone actually thinks that is wrong, then I guess I'm guilty.

Here is the problem..... no more PMing!!! Ya gotta make the plans and the invite on open forum for all to see and be subjected to.

And instead of most folks accepting that meetings like that are alright in general, but that ministry should be extra careful, and that people in general should not make it a common practice...
Some had to make it a UPCI thing, some a question of intelligence, some called it brainwashing more or less. If they would simply read the whole thread with a modicum of comprehension they would have seen that this could have been a great thread with some good recommendations and suggestions. Instead they got put on the mailing list for "Hooked On Phonics" and "Linear Thinking: Use Any Chance to Make it A Negative Preacher/UPC Thing."
Rhoni made sense on this one. (Bet you didn't think I would ever say that, huh?)

LOL!!!
I agree with you - maybe it should have been another thread. In fact, I'm almost certain that we've discussed it before.
