its not a weird fixation - LW was a teacher, mentor and friend to many on this board...many of us grew up with him as our minister of music or instructor at JCM....Sis Wolfe was my sunday school teacher for many years. Many of us have spent hours in their home and on tour....his falling away was very traumatic to many of us and impacted our lives.

it's not a fixation, its almost like a family connection.

It's not like some of the icons we discuss on here, most have no direct, personal contact with the icon - unlike LW and his family...

My music was greatly influenced by Lanny Wolfe and the first time I ever walked into a UPC church - was because it was heavily advertised - THE LANNY WOLFE TRIO would be in Concert with the JCM Choir.
I went - was blessed - but kinda shocked - it looked to me that every single guy in the choir looked exactly alike and especially the girls - the all looked exactly the same! I thought it was an incredible concert - but the look was so odd to me! LOL I was Church of God and did a lot of LW music.

A question in general:
Do you think that maybe there should be evidence of repentance? (ie. Not living a drunkard's life, or not living the life of a drug or sex addict, or not living a sinful lifestyle.)

Hmmmmm.....we could devise a test. After church lead him to the foyer and have a beautiful blonde haried woman on one side and a young (adult) man on the other. Tell him he can go out to dinner with either one. Then wait and see who he picks?
